Sustainable Facility magazine is currently accepting bylined articles and feature or column contributions on green building related topics. Please refer to our Editorial Calendar for specific feature areas. If you're interested in contributing a bylined exclusive story to Sustainable Facility magazine, here's what you need to know:

Before beginning an article, it is recommended that you contact Senior Editor Michelle Hucal at hucalm@bnpmedia.com or Managing Editor Derrick Teal at teald@bnpmedia.com to confirm the need for and possible placement of the article.
E-mail is the preferred form of communication and for submissions.

Feature (project-based) articles are generally 1,000 words in length. Columns are usually shorter. We're very flexible on style and format, but please do review our website at www.SustainableFacility.com for some previously published feature articles. Articles should be technical in nature, targeted for our highly educated/technical audience of green-minded facility managers (FMs), building owners, energy management professionals and other environmental building experts.

Articles should examine the unique challenges or innovations of a specific sustainable aspect, maybe relevant to the building or industry type, the people involved, or the performance results (did it exceed expectations?). How about budget? Performance data (i.e., water, energy), building standards and codes, and certifications (product or building) are necessary to include.

Please also keep in mind that some projects published in Sustainable Facility require a sidebar of basic information, including: size, location and date completed, plus a list of the entire project team (ie, firm and company names), and a list of green building materials specified (product manufacturers).

**High-quality images are required and may be photos, graphics, charts, renderings, etc. (hi-res jpegs or tifs are preferred at several inches at 300 dpi). Also be sure to include a short author bio and hi-res color headshot, and contact information if it should be published. The deadline for all of the completed information and photos is generally two months prior to publication date. **

New product information should be e-mailed directly to teald@bnpmedia.com at least one month prior to publication date.

Please contact the editorial staff with any questions.

Kind Regards,

Michelle Hucal, LEED AP, senior editor

Derrick Teal, managing editor
