Johnson Controls recently extended its line of YORK model YCWL water-cooled scroll chillers to include models ranging from 50 to 200 tons of refrigeration (175 to 700 kW). According to the company, model YCWL water-cooled scroll chillers are the first chillers to use scroll compressors that are optimized for water-cooled rather than air-cooled duty. As a result, the high-performance chillers can achieve an energy efficiency ratio (EER) as high as 16.2 at full load and 24.5 at part load conditions. www.johnsoncontrols.com.
