New Flooring Collections

Forbo Flooring Systems introduced the Marmoleum Real and Marmoleum Composition Tile collections along with new Flotex Calgary and Journeys patterns. The Marmoleum Real collection is available in 67 colors, including new organic brown and beige tones as well as green and purple shades. The new MCT features an updated collection of 25 colors. The Flotex flocked flooring line added two sheet collections: Calgary and Journeys. Calgary is available in 24 colors designed to coordinate with marbleized Marmoleum, while Journeys’ classic leaf pattern combines the look of traditional textile flooring with durability, stain-resistance, and low-cost maintenance. www.forboflooringna.com.

Cleaning System Eliminates Detergents and Chemicals

nora systems Inc. introduced the nora pro clean system, a unique floor cleaning system that reduces maintenance time and costs by eliminating the use of detergents and chemicals. The three cleaning pads, developed and sold exclusively by nora, incorporate industrial diamonds to provide a choice of three abrasion levels, each designed for specific cleaning regimens and flooring applications. The pads can be used with conventional floor cleaning machines. An optional buffing procedure produces a high-shine finish without coatings or waxes. Carpet Backing Filler Made From Recycled Carpet Waste

Mohawk Industries announced a partnership with Polar Materials Inc. to produce a carpet backing filler created from recycled carpet waste. Waste sand, or calcium carbonate plus latex, from reclaimed carpet is put through Polar Materials’ patent-pending C2C (carpet-to-carpet) process. C2C removes residual carpet fibers and blends the sand with limestone, which is commonly used as filler for latex carpet backings. The C2C carpet filler satisfies Sustainable Carpet Assessment Standard NSF-140 2007 for post-consumer recycled content goals. www.mohawkgreenworks.com.

FSC-Certified Bamboo Flooring

Prefinished Solid Bamboo flooring from Higuera Hardwoods is FSC-certified bamboo flooring planks milled with tongue-and-groove edges on all four sides to provide interlocking assembly. Each piece is sanded multiple times on top with the finest German machinery and comes with a rough glue-ready surface on the bottom that is sealed to prevent moisture from entering as easily from the subfloor. The top edge above the tongue is all mitered and ready to accept standard flooring staples or cleats. INVISTA launched an online catalog featuring hundreds of carpet styles made with Antron nylon. Users can search by color, construction, pattern and sustainable attributes, among other choices. In addition to the online catalog, antron.net features tools to help specifiers determine the performance requirements their facility needs. The Carpet Mentor helps facility managers select the best carpet construction based on the specific needs of their application. Adhesive-Free, Free-Floating Carpet Tile Installation System

Beaulieu Commercial announced a partnership with TacFast Systems International to provide a total adhesive-free, free-floating carpet tile installation system. Beaulieu Commercial will market and sell TacFast LocPlate products that feature a free-floating substrate and carpet tiles with a loop fabric underside. The flooring surface attaches to the hook substrate by engaging the hooks and loops creating a mechanical bond that is secure yet is releasable. The LocPlate product line can be installed over any subfloor without any attachment to the subfloor, and it supports the installation of a variety of flooring surfaces. www.beaulieucommercial.com.

Almada New Traditions in Cork features a collection of new cork patterns and colors in a 4-inch-wide glueless plank. Natural Bamboo Expressions features solid stained strand woven bamboo, Corboo, and wood grain enhanced strand technique. Vinacork is a collection of glueless plank LVT with a layer of cork sandwiched between the LVT wear layer and the HDF core. Refined Elegance features six hand-scraped oak and hickory floors.
