Sustainable Facility eNews
November Edition

Welcome to the November issue of Sustainable Facility’s monthly eNews.

From the magazine's debut last month at IFMA's World Workplace 2007 in New Orleans to the launch party and editorial meet and greet at the Lux Bar during the U.S.Green Building Council (USGBC)'s Greenbuild 2007 Conference and Expo last week in Chicago, the magazine has been well received by the high-performance building industry and we sincerely thank you for your support of and interest in this new endeavor.

Lots of news to report from the aforementioned industry shows, with IFMA, the Alliance for Sustainable Built Environments (ASBE) and the USGBC signing a Memorandum of Intent in New Orleans, and the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), ALM's Real Estate Media and USGBC announcing encouraging results of a national study detailing increasing environmental awareness and investment within the commercial real estate industry. Watch for the December print edition of Sustainable Facility for more in-depth coverage of these exciting new developments.

In an effort to keep all of you informed, we need to keep informed. That's why we're asking you to tell us what you think is the Greatest Green Product. Is there a particular carpet or flooring product that you regularly specify in sustainable projects? How about a preferred roofing manufacturer that offers a high-performance product? Long-lasting, low-VOC sustainable paints or coatings? Is there a plumbing or HVAC system that conserves water or energy beyond your expectations? What looks great and is truly green? What commercial environmental materials do you recommend to your colleagues?

Tell us about the great green product and at least one project you have used it in, and you could be featured in an upcoming issue of Sustainable Facility. E-mail Senior Editor Michelle Hucal at hucalm@bnpmedia.com with the subject line "Greatest Green Product."

Thanks for reading.

Until next time –

Joseph H. Mayton III, Editor

Two profound, life changing events are converging to create the most significant crisis of modern time — the warming of the earth’s atmosphere by burning fossil fuels, and the rapid depletion of global petroleum and natural gas reserves. As these events intensify over the coming years, they will dramatically change how we live and how we relate to the natural world.
