Greenbuild 2007 | Chicago "What's Your Idea?"
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Greenbuild 2007 Conference and Expo poses the question: “What’s Your Idea?” Some 20,000 green-minded professionals are anticipated at this year's expo, which will kick off with an opening plenary keynote by former President Bill Clinton, and offer more than 150 educational sessions focused on green communities encompassed within the largest Greenbuild exhibit hall ever with more than 850 booths.
The opening plenary keynote will be given by former President Bill Clinton who, through the William J. Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI), has worked toward reducing CO2
emissions. The USGBC will work with CCI to provide tools and green building strategies that will result in an increase in energy efficiency and a reduction of carbon emissions. The theme of this year’s conference is Accelerating Green Communities: From Awareness to Action. Unique sessions include an exploration of Crown Hall at the Illinois Institute of Technology, designed by Mies van de Rohe, and a session at the LEED for Commercial Interiors Platinum-certified Exelon Headquarters in downtown Chicago.
The entire Sustainable Facility team, including Senior Editor Michelle Hucal, LEED AP, and Associate Editor Derrick Teal, will be onsite for USGBC’s Greenbuild 2007, Nov. 7 – 9, in booth number 930 at Chicago’s McCormick Place; a newly LEED-certified facility.
Thanks for reading.
See you in Chicago –
