Welcome back from the holidays. Hopefully you had time to relax, visit with family and friends, and are off to a great start in 2008.
New Year's resolutions sometimes throw me for a loop... I start the year off with the best of intentions, but sometimes lapse back into old habits I swore I would rid myself of... (letting the clutter pile up on my desk and email inbox being one of them.)
One resolution I have been sticking fast to is learning more about the high-performance building sector and reporting on industry initiatives and facility management developments in a timely manner.
As a facility manager or building owner, what are some of your goals for the new year?

- Will you pursue new certifications or take part in continuing educational sessions?

ASHRAE Publishes User’s Manual for Standard 62.1
Atlanta — A manual to help users navigate the changes in ASHRAE’s 2007 ventilation standard is now available. Greensburg, Kansas Commits to LEED Platinum
Washington, D.C. — The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced that the city of Greensburg, Kansas has passed a resolution to certify all city-owned buildings LEED Platinum, making it the first city in the U.S. to pass such a resolution. more
Kohler Joins Alliance for Water Efficiency
Kohler, Wis. — Kohler Co. has joined the Alliance for Water Efficiency as a charter sponsor. The Alliance for Water Efficiency addresses several key objectives: providing comprehensive information about water efficient products, practices and programs; representing the interest of water efficiency in the development of codes and standards; and coordinating green building initiatives to institutionalize water efficiency.

CFL Recycling Program Launched
