Sustainable Facility eNews February 2008 Edition
|
|
|
Greetings + Salutations and welcome to the February 2008 edition of the Sustainable Facility
eNews.
It's been a busy winter so far for the Sustainable Facility staff. Freshly home from New York where National Sales Manager Heather Jenkins and I attended the 2008 ASHRAE expo (where we also enjoyed a trip to celebrity chef Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill in Manhattan), this week found me in sunny San Francisco for the 2008 Autodesk World Press Days.
Learning about Building Information Modeling (BIM), and hearing presentations regarding the AEC sector from luminaries like Phil Bernstein, FAIA, LEED AP, (shown left) is a welcome change of pace from fighting the winter blahs and heading to my cluttered cubicle in the Michigan office. I, for one, am officially done with winter: I sing this same song every year around this
time — spring can't get here soon enough. You can read more about some of ASHRAE's energy efficiency initiatives, as well as a news roundup from the show in the April Industry Watch section of Sustainable Facility. And, check out Sustainable Facility's December 2007 "Perspectives On Sustainability: Building Information Modeling for Sustainable Design" column by Bernstein for more information on BIM transformative, sustainable concepts.
Those who are at their desks this month will want to tune in for sister publication Environmental Design + Construction
's SCS Indoor Air Quality Edu+Cast continuing education webinar; the first in a series on IAQ. The webinar will be broadcast live on Feb. 26, 2008, at 2:00 EST, and will be moderated by Sustainable Facility Senior Editor Michelle Hucal, LEED AP. Register here or click the tile ad on the right-hand side of this eNewsletter for more information.
And while we'reon the subject of online information, along with regularly updated Breaking News and Calendar of Events section, Sustainable Facility's website, www.SustainableFacility.com
, also includes "Only Online " exclusive features that you won't find in the print or digital editions. Be sure to visit regularly—and register as a user—to stay abreast of topics concerning the world of sustainable facility management.
Thanks for reading.
