Ethanol Producer Improving Renewable Balance
Minneapolis - U.S. Energy Services, Inc. announced it has completed a transaction with Johnson County Landfill, Shawnee Misson, Kan.,and Integrys Energy Group, Inc. to supply renewable landfill gas to Mid-Missouri Energy, Malta Bend, Mo. The landfill gas will displace over 90 percent of the natural gas used to produce ethanol at the plant. This arrangement is the first of its kind providing up to 3,300 Mmbtu per day of pipeline quality biogas to be delivered from the landfill to the ethanol plant.

Artisan Screen Made from Sustainable Materials
Venice, Calif. - Sustainable contemporary furniture-design firm Animavi's Artisan Screen, a seven-section, freestanding space-defining sculpture for commercial and custom residential applications, is comprised of seven handcrafted steel bases that can be configured in a linear or serpentine form, enabling a six- to seven-foot length. The base unit is available in two finishes: artisan patina or raw steel. The seven-foot vertical planks that make up the screen can be specified in three different material options: Chroma by 3form, Varia Pure Color ecoresin by 3form or Forest Stewardship (FSC)-certified bamboo by Plyboo, the company reports.
